## What pixel clean is

### Is pixel clean a free watermark remover?
Yes. It removes visible watermarks from images and video at no cost, with no account, no credits and no daily limit. The processing runs in the visitor's own browser, so there is no per-user server cost to recover and therefore no quota.

### Do files upload to a server?
No. Images and video are read and processed entirely on the visitor's own device using WebAssembly. Nothing is transmitted. This is verifiable: load the page, disconnect from the network, and process a file — it still works.

### Will the result be blurry?
Not where the method applies. A visible watermark is composited onto the image with a known alpha blend, so the blend can be inverted arithmetically to recover the original pixels. Nothing is synthesised, so the smearing typical of generative inpainting does not occur. Blur appears only when a tool guesses at missing texture, or when the input was already re-encoded.

### How does pixel clean remove watermarks without blur?
By reverse-alpha reconstruction. A watermark is composited as composite = (mark x alpha) + (original x (1 - alpha)). Solving for the original is rearrangement, not inference, so the recovered pixels are the genuine ones. The hard part is measuring the overlay geometry and opacity profile accurately.

### Which files work best?
The original export, unmodified. Screenshots, re-saves, crops and uploads through messaging or social apps all re-encode the file, which destroys the recoverable signal while leaving the visible mark in place.

## Models and what each one marks

### Does Nano Banana output have a watermark?
Yes. Nano Banana is Google's name for Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, and Google AI Studio states that all Nano Banana images include an invisible SynthID watermark. The visible overlay is the same one Gemini uses, so a Gemini watermark remover already handles it without modification. Nano Banana 2 is Gemini 3.1 Flash Image and is handled identically.

### Can you remove the SynthID watermark?
No. SynthID is an imperceptible signal embedded in the content rather than a layer composited on top, so there is nothing to subtract. Google states it is designed to survive re-scaling, re-colouring and compression, and that there is still a chance it will not be detected after many alterations. pixel clean does not attempt it and gives no instructions for doing so.

### Can you remove the watermark from a Veo 3 video?
The visible overlay, yes. Veo, Veo 3 and Veo 3.1 all stamp the same visible Gemini overlay, so the same reverse-alpha pass applies frame by frame. Audio passes through. The invisible SynthID signal on Veo output is not touched.

### Does pixel clean handle Sora?
No. Sora output is not supported and no instructions for it are provided here. The tool makes no claim it can process Sora files.

### What is Content Credentials / C2PA?
Content Credentials are signed provenance metadata built on the C2PA standard, recording an edit history. They are not an overlay. Tampering with them invalidates the signature rather than removing anything, so they are not treated as a removable watermark.

## Using it

### Can I remove a watermark from a Gemini video I already downloaded?
Yes, provided it is the original export. Settings that disable watermarks for new generations do not rewrite files already saved, so turning the setting off will not clean an existing file.

### Where is the watermark toggle in Google AI Studio?
Under project or generate settings, labelled a media watermark or logo toggle. Exact labels vary by product surface and region, so search settings for "watermark" if it is not visible.

### Is there a limit on how many files I can process?
No quota. Practical limits come from the visitor's own device: available memory and whether the browser can decode the format. Long videos and high-resolution images scale with resolution times duration.

## Legality

### Is watermark removal legal?
It depends on two separate questions, and technical capability is not permission.

Removing a watermark from media you do not own is very likely unlawful. Separately, Google's Terms of Service prohibit removing or altering their branding, logos or legal notices, and that obligation can apply to content the person otherwise owns. Both 17 U.S.C. 1201 (circumvention) and 1202 (copyright management information) may be relevant, and the Google Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy adds further restrictions.

This is not legal advice. The sourced analysis of the relevant statutes and policy clauses is published at https://geteverythinggpt.com/is-watermark-removal-legal.

### Can I use this on my own content?
Technical capability aside, the applicable terms of whichever service produced the file still govern. Google's terms prohibit removing their branding regardless of who owns the underlying media. Verify your position before relying on this commercially.
